zoegoose: imo the $spy isnt plodding along, teh put call ratio is alot higher than usual which to me indicates some underlying nerves in the market

takumidivs: A bit surprised to see $JNJ moving quietly, usually it's a bit more volatile on days like today.

ary4cp1: What's your take on whether this lack of movement in the broader market is a sign of consolidation or just a pause before another move, haha?

ian_calls: tbh i think its alot of consolidation going on, like look at $SPY and $DIA, they're just range bound lately, not doing much of anything

npc: imo this calmness is super deceiving sha, alot of underlying tension in $spy and $qqq dont think it lasts tbh

buyhighsellow2: @takumidivs not sure why thats suprising, jnj doesnt always have to be volatile just cuz its a big day for some other names, idk

x_erenxx: i think you have a point on $SPY and $DIA being range bound, valla, but thats exactly why im watching $QQQ closely, its been outperforming them lately

redday: not gonna lie, been hearing about underlying tension in $spy and $qqq for a while now, honestly, how long can it supposedly not last

geraltnewish: i think alot of people are just waitin to see whats gonna happen with $aapl earnings next week, thats why the market is so meh for now imo

zhen_invests: @redday, not sure i agree, very likely we just see a normal pullback in $spy and $qqq, been saying this for weeks, earnings are still very strong...

geraltnewish: @x_erenxx i dont think $QQQ is gonna keep outperforming them long term, imo its pretty correlated with $SPY and $DIA and will likely follow their lead eventually

elliecharts: @redday anyway i think thats teh million dollar question how long can it just coast like this

eren: yeah feels like that to me too or?

touchgrass21: actually been watching $VTI and it's not like the whole market is asleep or anything, just seems like the big names are carrying it

sith91: imo, the fact that some stocks are making moves while the broader market holds steady suggests to me there's still some underlying momentum in specific sectors that's worth paying attention to, sorry.

mandomike: ngl been saying this for weeks and not much has changed

buyhighsellow2: idk if i totally agree, seems to me like alot of the movement in $VTI is just tracking the bigger indexes, dont think its necessarily a sign of broader health or anything

bianca_smol92: haha i dont know if i agree tho, i think $nvda is looking pretty strong and thats gotta be a good sign for the rest of the market ngl

ezio_x: hmm yeah i see what youre saying but alot of times $VGT and $QQQ are just carrying teh whole market on their backs so i dont think its necesarily about underlying momentum in other sectors

x_erenxx: valla i think you're underestimating the impact of $SPY's slow movement on the overall sentiment, its not just about a few names running hot or not
