- Foreign Privacy and Security Laws Similar health care and data privacy laws and regulations exist in Europe and other jurisdictions, including reporting requirements detailing interactions with and payments to healthcare providers and requirements regarding the collection, distribution, use, security, and storage of personally identifiable information and other data relating to individuals, including the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), which went into effect in May 2018.
